#Moments  from celebration

As a part of Christmas celebration the natural science optional performed a group song. We also had many programs like dance, songs and fashion show by our friends and seniors. We could also see that our teachers enjoyed and danced with us. We won the prize for best Christmas card and Maya ma'am awarded us the prize.

Today's assembly was organized by B.Ed Maths optional first year. 

The assembly included News reading, Importance of week and the day, campus news, revealing their association name 'Dyuthi' and logo , Book contribution and finally message was delivered by Joju sir. Joju sir gave a very interesting story  through which sir pointed out 2 points:

• never judge anyone by their appearance 
• never Judge anyone by a single incident. 

After assembly we had optional period.we prepared letter for santa as part of letter writing competition. Shiney ma'am gave us assignments and seminar topics. 

Then Maya ma'am explained the qualities of teacher. 

Then in next hour,  Ancy ma'am taught us principles of development and educational implications.

During last hour we practiced for Christmas celebration.

December 21,2021

As usual our day started with the prayer. 

Joju sir asked us to conduct a group discussion on the topic - ' Cyber Crimes and ways to prevent them in teacher perspective'. After forming 8 groups , we selected our  leader, reporter and time manager and then we discussed many points. 

The next session was led by Maya ma'am and she pointed out the qualities and the competencies that a teacher should have which includes IQ,EQ,SQ, physical and mental health etc. 

For the Christmas card making competition initiated by mathematics association, Greeshma prepared a fabulous card.

After Lunch,Shiney ma'am explained the syllabus. 

The next session was of Joju sir and sir taught us about e-content making and its importance through some videos.

Indicators of Teacher Effectiveness

In the evening, we had online insight series and the topic was ' Indicators of Teacher Effectiveness' by Mrs.Sindhu A Sarah,Life skill trainer & researcher. It was very informative and gave us certain methods to make a teaching effective. These online series helped me a lot.

After prayer, we had an optional class. Shiney Ma'am asked us to collect information on the meaning of science, science as a product and process, and the values of science. We took books from the college library for collecting points and collected as many points as we could.

Next hour was of Joju Sir, gave us the topics for our assignment and discussed the internal mark division of this paper. Then sir took class about technology of education and differentiated Technology in education and technology of education.

Technology of education is also referred to as educational technology and is in reality incorporation of IT into the realm of classroom , while  Technology in education is not limited to making use of technology to make learning and imparting of education easier in all possible ways but also a field of study in itself for those who are involved with developing technological tools for educational purposes.

Then a survey on 'Life Skill Assessment Scale' was conducted by one of the research scholar. Through this I got various life skills and its importance. 

 

 

Memorable day.

December 17,2021

As usual our day started with the prayer. Our first class was optional and we were waiting for our teacher.  Then my friends bought birthday cake for me and Lekshmi.  At first I thought it was for Lekshmi as this day was Lekshmi's birthday but to my surprise it was for me too. Thanks to my friends and teacher😍😍. 

After the celebration,  Shiney ma'am taught us about Id, ego and super-ego.

Maya ma'am asked us to write the strengths and areas that we need to improve as a teacher and the feedback to ma'am and after collecting the papers she mentioned some points.

 

After lunch,  me and Lekshmi gave a small treat to our friends and teacher with ice-cream balls,  we could see the childish face and gestures in each one us. 😅.

The next session was of Joju sir and sir mentioned some positives and negatives of technology. He also mentioned hardware and software technology.

Second day of NAAC visit

December 15,2021

All the teachers and we wore set-saree. 

The day started with assembly conducted by college union members.  

After that,  we had optional group photo session. 

Then,  some of us went for robotics workshop where basics of robotics were taught.

Otto Blockly software was used and in that we joined various visual blocks to generate C++ codes.  We learned various programs like light blinking,  obstacle recognizing etc and output was observed using otto robot. 

NAAC visit day

December 14,2021

Finally the day of NAAC visit came.  It was the first day of visit and we all were in uniform saree. 

First session was led by Stephan sir. He taught us some postures and outcomes of yoga. 

After that,  next session was of Maya ma'am and she asked us to write the qualities and competencies of a teacher in alphabetical order. 

In the next session,  Shafi sir taught us the Piaget's theory of intellectual development. 

The afternoon session was for cultural event. Various dance forms in India was performed by the students which emphasized the cultural heritage of India. 

I performed Gujarati dance, Garbha with my friends. 

Final preparation day...

December 13,2021

To be the best, the whole college was preparing. Some were engaged with cultural program practice, some with class preparation etc. 

After lunch,  the students were asked to gather at seminar hall and the principal and other teachers gave instructions for us. 

 After that , we had a trial assembly and college union members gave the instructions.

Our day started with the prayer. Then Shiney ma'am discussed the changes and rearrangements in the class.  The whole day was for that.

Our day started with the prayer. First session was of Joju sir.  He conducted a small group discussion on the topic advantages and disadvantages of Technology. 

Then we visited Asha Sadan, Vattapara, a home for mentally challenged ones. It was a different experience for each one of us. 

Talent hunt program for Natural Science and Physical science was during  afternoon session. 

Mock NAAC visit

December 8,2021

The assembly was conducted by the English optional first year students  and they revealed their association name 'Aliferous'. It was well organized and they gifted books to library. 

After that our principal, gave message through a powerful story about the African philosophy of teamwork and collaboration.Ubuntu in African tribal language means 'I am because, we are!' and it speaks about interconnectedness.

After the assembly we moved to our respective optional classes. 

Shiney ma'am explained the meaning of a teacher using its each letter. Then as per her instructions we made arrangements in our classes. 

Then we had class of Ancy ma'am. She discussed about growth and development - its definition,  difference etc. 

Then mock NAAC team visited us to give instructions. 

After that we visited library. During afternoon session, we cleaned our classroom and continued our talent hunt program practice . 

Something creative....

December 7,2021

As usual or day day began with the prayer.

The first class was of Gibi ma'am and before the class she asked questions to revise the portions. Then ma'am taught us about the scope of educational psychology which includes learner,  learning experience, methods, learning environment etc. Then she asked us to make a group based on some criteria to make us realise that the each individual differs. Some know to swim,  while some know other languages like German, Japanese etc.

After this class, we had work experience workshop led by Elizabeth ma'am. The session was about flower arrangement including its theory and it was magnificent class. 

Then we had aerobics exercise session .It was interesting and we had enjoyed a lot. 

Today we got opportunity to know more about flower arrangement and aerobics. .......and another memory petal ends here. 

Celebration continues.....

December 6,2021

By following the mermerizing programs of English and Maths optional talent hunt program,  today we had programs of Malayalam and Social Science optional. We were eagerly waiting for that.

As usual, after the prayer we had class led by Maya ma'am. She taught us the functions of education which includes acquisition of knowledge,  individual, social and  cultural development, ideal citizenship,  character development and so on...   

As Nelson Mandela said -"Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world." But Paulo Freire said "Education does not transform the World. Education changes People. People change the World." So, the overall development of a person can occur only through education. 

She had also presented a funny video during the concluding session which had almost all characters of a class which made us remember , few of our friends. 

The next session was led by Shafi sir.  

He began with a motivational quote-

"എന്നെ ചെളിയിൽ പുതച്ചാലും ഇരുട്ടിൽ മൂടിയാലും ഞാൻ വളരുക തന്നെ ചെയ്യും വെളിച്ചത്തിലേക്ക്"

He further explained the preparation tips for exam,  how to be in an interview, practicing in front of mirror,  and so on. The whole session will help each one of us in this journey.

Then the awaited talent hunt program began.  Both Malayalam and Social science optional performed well and it was magnificent.

At the end,  Joju sir gave feedback of the programs.  

The whole day was gorgeous and energetic.

Celebration begins...

December 3, 2021

We moved to the general class after seeking blessings and expressing our gratitude to God. During the first hour of class, Archana ma'am taught us about the branches of psychology, its schools, etc. She made a student to summarize the content after each section, and we were able to recall the portions, which was extremely beneficial.

As it was the first Friday, all students and staff were invited to attend the holy mass in the college chapel after class.

After the class, was the most awaited event: the Talent Hunt.

The English and Maths optional conducted the first day of the talent hunt programmes. Both optionals were mesmerising, and we, the audience, thoroughly enjoyed and danced along with them. 

So friends,.... we all have talents, but some of us are still unaware of them. Break the barriers that are preventing you from succeeding in life.

Exploring day

December 2,2021

The day started with morning prayer. The first hour we had Yoga. 

 Sir taught us many simple asanas like Tadasana, Talasana, Uttanasanaa and so on and  said about its health benefits.

After yoga practice, we had a very fantastic class on communicative skill by Asha ma'am and Gibi ma'am introduced her.

Then ma'am started with a word game and  Silpa from natural science won the game. Ma'am said that we should use English on daily basis and then only it helps us to use it fluently. Ma'am also gave us many qualities of a winner. 

Ma'am also gave us task to write 10 common words that we use in our notebook ie, assignment, psychological, interpretation, courteous, theoretically, insignificant, interactive, strategies, effectiveness, and acquisition without making spelling mistake. Then we had a story telling game in English. Annu from social science won the prize. Then ma'am also gave us idea about the approach of a teacher to a student. Then we have a small live illustration on evolution by  6 students of each class guided by Asha ma'am, principal sir and Joju sir. We also wished Asha ma'am as it was her birthday. The session was wonderful and informative.

We visited Science lab, Computer lab and psychological lab, guided by Shiney ma'am, Joju sir, Maya ma'am and Ancy ma'am. In psychology lab we played with toys. Today was a great day as we explored a lot.

 

HELLO DECEMBER

December 1,2021

This is the most awaited cool and colourful month of every year . 

Today's assembly conducted by Malayalam optional and they gave red ribbon as part of Aids day. After assembly we had optional class led by Shiney ma'am. 

Thought for the day was given by Ann Maria sister, Sister quoted words of mother Teresa. 

Followed by self introduction by new students. 

After that we had class of Maya ma'am. During our class ma'am played a music , she also asked the students who have learnt classical music to sing a song and she explained about different ragas. Later ma'am taught us words of eminant personalities like Rabindranath Tagore and Aristole on education.

Later Gibi ma'am came to class and ma'am taught us about nature of psychology, and it's classification.

After lunch break we went to library then for orientation class of Joju sir . And in last hour we spent time to practice talent hunt.
