 March 31,2022

As usual day started with prayer, and the first session was taken  by Benedict Sir. Sir continued with the microteaching skills and this session was about Questioning skills. The main sub skills are wording or language, type of questions, Aptness, Probing, Redirection and Appreciation.

After that, sir came to sell hybrid vegetable seeds and he gave a detailed explanation about the conditions which the seeds require, how to plant etc.

Next class was taken by Gibi ma'am and she explained the defence mechanism.  

                 

As it was last offline class before retirement, Maya ma'am came and made a lively and happy session by singing songs, telling her memories with Gibi ma'am and it ended with our photo session. 

After Lunch , Joju sir gave Exam tips.

Then, we had drama competition led by Malayalam Association and college union as part of World drama day.

After prayer, we had optional hour and Bijisha continued with her seminar. The seminar was on "components of teaching skills".

After that Archana ma'am took a revision class on Intelligence and its type theories.

After that, Ancy ma'am took class on Forbes method of teaching. Then we had thanksgiving holy mass.

GAEA

Its the duty of humans to save their mother Earth,  rather than destroying it which we presently doing. As Gandhiji said, " there is everything for human needs but not for his greed". 

March 21 is observed as International  forest day,March 22 as World water day, March 23 as World meteorological day and March Tuberculosis Day. For all these observance days,  HORUS, Natural Science assosciation conducted program "Gaea" which included informative videos,  'Who Am I'quiz,showed dance shot while we were in Sambranikodi and speeches. 

Finally distributed prizes for the winners of quiz.

IRIS

March 21,2022

Eyes are the windows to the body,  which helps us to see and experience things around us.  As this sense organ is important , we should check its condition. For that, as an initiative of HORUS,  Natural Science assosciation , an eye test camp was conducted in collaboration with Dr. Agarwal Eye Care Hospital.

A team of 4 members from hospital came and the camp was successful. The teachers both from our college and nearby colleges,  students attended the camp. 

The camp started with an introductory session, principal sir gave a valuable speech.Chairperson and Vice chairperson also attended the session. 

Principal sir inagurated the camp by testing his eyes. The camp ended by 2 pm

and there was more than 100 registration.
 

Mcq day 4

MARCH 21,2022

 Today’s MCQ test was on the paper “Theoretical Base of Natural Science Education” and “Pedagogic Content Knowledge Analysis: Natural Science”. That's the end of SEM 1 MCQ test. 

After that, we conducted our program ‘IRIS’.  

Then Archana ma'am asked us to take the seminar on intelligence. 

After lunch, we practiced for the cultural program session for college union inauguration day.

Field trip

March 17,2022

Field trips act as a bridge connecting classroom experience with real  experience. We the students of  Natural science, mathematics and Malayalam optional went to Asan smargam at Thonnakkal , Sambranikodi in Kollam and Kappil beach. It was a wonderful experience for us.

Asan smaragan has many written records by Kumaranasan and the atmosphere was so soothing. 

Next we headed to Sambranikodi. By means of boat we reached the island and observed the mangrove plants, collected some specimens and we also made a dance video. Then we moved to Kappil beach. We had a great experience and we explored the beauty of nature.

MCQ day 3

 March 16,2022

Today’s Mcq test was on the paper “Technology and Communication in Education”. 

Then the first session was taken by Benedict sir. Sir taught us about microteaching cycle and skills.

Next we had optional class and prayer and thought for the day was done by Lekshmi .   Ancy continued with her seminar on the topic constructivist approach.

 Then, we celebrated Sandra’s and Poornima’s birthday by cutting cake. 

After lunch, in Joju sir’s class Natural Science and English optional presented their seminar.

 March 15,2022

Today’s MCQ test was on the paper “Developmental Perspectives of the Learner”. 

After that, the first session was taken by Maya ma'am and discussed about cultural inertia, cultural diffusion, acculturation, enculturation, sanskritisation and role of education with regard to culture. 

Then we had optional hour and seminar was presented by Ancy about designing lesson plans based on Herbartian and constructivist approach.

Then, during Joju sir’s class Natural Science optional presented their seminar on the topic MOOC and Swayam.

MCQ day 1

 March 14,2022

As part of internal evaluation, we had MCQ test of paper 1.

Then after Lunch, Natural Science optional took seminar on topics LMS and learning object repository.

After that, as part of PIE DAY, Maths optional conducted a quiz and game. For that a group of 2 members from each optional participated and Malayalam optional won. It was very interesting.

The program was conducted in the remembrance of Prof. Dr. P. M. Jaleel. Many of his friends, students and family members came and shared their memories of and with Sir.

Yoga exam

March 11,2022

The day started with prayer. 

First session was handled by Benedict sir and sir taught us about levels of teaching and skill based instructional design. 

Then in optional class, Seminar was presented by Akhila and Poornima.

 After lunch, we had yoga exam. After that, we went to the auditorium for seat and stage arrangement  for the program on next day.

Initiative of ICT club

  As an initiative of  ICT club, an online webinar was conducted on the topic- "An introduction to teaching aids: how to use smart tablet." 

It was very interactive and useful. As in this present digital era, knowledge on these is inevitable. She also introduced  whiteboard and other aids

The day started with yoga class. Sir asked us to form small groups of 10 students and to have discussion on treatments we need to follow to cure headache, insomnia, asthma, and to improve memory. After the discussion, group representative shared their points with us.

Then we had optional class and thought for the day was by Lekshmi. 

Then Shiney ma'am taught about Peck and Wilson taxonomy,  ICT integration taxonomy. 

Later, Akhila presented her Seminar about interdisciplinary approach.

 The Wednesday assembly was by second year English  optional students. Assembly started with college anthem, then prayer and pledge. After further more programs the assembly dispersed after national anthem.

Then we had optional class, Lekshmi took seminar on Experimental method , heuristic method ad multimedia approach. 

After that we, Natural Science optional took seminar on the topics- e-learning,LMS,CMS.
