Day - 8
November 25,2021
To seek the blessings of God , we began our day with a prayer in the chapel.
Maya ma'am led the first session, introduced the topic, Teacher and Education, and then discussed the origin of the word 'Education,' as well as its literal meaning and characteristics. Ma'am taught us, that each class should be purposeful, planned, and deliberate. Education is a tripolar process including student, teacher and society. Ma'am also pointed out the two separate processes that are very closely related,Sensation and perception. Sensation is input about the physical world obtained by our sensory receptors, and perception is the process by which the brain selects, organizes, and interprets these sensations.
The next session was the continuation of workshop organized by M.Ed interns on the topic ' Women empowerment' and ' Human Rights'. The workshop was followed by a marvellous mime organised by our batch-mates, which they have prepared within one or two days. They pointed out one of the serious current issues , the denial of right of workers from other states. They executed and conveyed the idea well.๐

Orientation day -7
Our new day started with the assembly which made us remember our school days. Assembly was organised by our M.Ed seniors with M.Ed interns of Department of Education,University of Kerala.
Campus news made us aware of the happenings in campus and some amusing elements.Principal's message was delivered through a folk tale, with the moral being that "everything that happens in our lives has a reason."
Our seniors donated a book , Teaching Community: A Pedagogy of Hope to college library. This book offers practical wisdom about what we do and can continue to do to make the classroom a place that is life-sustaining and mind- expanding, a place of liberating mutuality where teacher and student together work in partnership.
After assembly we moved to our respective optional classes and discussed the following quote as thought of the day,
" Everything is Easy when we are busy, Nothing is easy when we are lazy" - Swami Vivekananda
The next session was led by M.Ed interns, and we explored two significant things in the workshop: life skills and disaster management. It was a fantastic session, and Shiney ma'am brought it to a close.
Next session was Physical education by George sir. Physical education was the period which most of us missed after our school days and it returned with vigour and delight. The opportunity to play badminton and cricket was provided by George Sir. Then we went to our college library and after that we resumed with our talent hunt preparation.Overall, this day brought us back to our school days, and it is a lasting memory petal of my MTTC life.

Orientation day - 6
November 23,2021
Our day began with a prayer in the chapel, and it rejuvenated us. Gibi ma'am took the first class, and it was an introductory session on psychology and its different types. She said, "Do it now," which was extremely motivating and made me remember the following quote:
"If not us, then who, and if not now, when?"
Congressman John Lewis
She asked us to keep a book for noting down points to enhance our knowledge, which could be quotes, paper cuttings, etc. As a social engineer, a teacher should enhance their knowledge and should be well aware of almost everything.
Some of the key points from her session:
"Values are caught rather than taught".
Value-based education is an attenuating factor that lays emphasis on the personality development of individuals. One such value is empathy, which each person requires in this sympathetic world. Through a game, she pointed out the need to think before you speak. After her session, Maya ma’am gave a clear and meaningful conclusion.
The following session was on Gender Equality- Is it a vitality? led by Jijitha chechi. Gender Equality literally means providing equal oppurtunities to each and every individual irrespective of gender.
The question put forth by her, "what will you do as a class teacher if you have a transgender student in your class to maintain gender equality?" made us think for a while. It was a question which I had never thought of or faced before, and now I have a solution (which may or may not be practicable). If such situation occurs, the first thing I would do is to treat them equally and make them participate in every program. So, hopefully, my students will treat them equally, and I will try to convince their parents first. Faced with this question, I recognised that we need to be conscious of social issues and create a solution that we can use accordingly. After this session , we prepared a poster through our teamwork and efforts.
Maya ma’am explained the emblem, motto, and vision of our college. She included many relevant quotes and taught the difference between the syllabus and the curriculum. In this ICT world, a teacher has a multifaceted role.
The last session of the day was optional and was led by Shiney ma’am. After that, we practised for our talent hunt program, and that's the end of this day, but the memory persists...

Orientation day - 3
Orientation day - 3
November 18,2021
As usual the day started with a prayer in chapel.
The Orientation class continued with further sessions and activities. These sessions made me realize the different aspects of education and to make teaching effective, a teacher should touch the heart of a student before touching their brain.
Benedict Sir asked us to draw five pictures each using numbers 2 and 4....quite funny and childish right...?
To make us energetic , George Sir made us play 'find the leader'. We enjoyed the game a lot..... it was a refreshing moment.
Then it was time to plan for the talent hunt, and we shared our ideas and plans. I hope all of us can prepare and execute well.
Orientation day 2
Orientation day 2
November 17,2021
The sessions were led by our mentors as a continuation of orientation. The incidental visit of a former student had an impact on our minds. We were inspired by the experience of sister in MTTC college and in the old age home run by them.
'In a planted sapling two things grow , Tree and Humanity'
A vegetable garden was created in hopes of a better tomorrow. The students planted the vegetable saplings with care and love. Our Principal, Dr. K.Y. Benedict, Sir, inaugurated by planting a sapling. Planting them was a wonderful experience.
Orientation day - 1
Orientation day - 1
November 16,2021
The first session was led by our principal, Benedict Sir. We were asked to write a letter 'เดธ്เดจേเดนเดชൂเตผเดตം เดเดจ്เดฑെ เดീเด്เดเตผเด്เด് 'to our favorite teacher and this was to make us understand the projection technique.
Next was an ice-breaking session led by Maya ma'am. In the interactive session, when she asked about inspiring and painful experiences, most of the students came forward to share their experiences which are lessons for each student-teacher.
Gibi Ma'am made us to draw a face (which we realized at-last) following her instructions by keeping our book on the head. When we did it differently, the result was something which made us laugh at ourselves.
Shiney Ma'am conducted an introductory session followed by a session by George sir on major and minor games.

"The secret of getting ahead is getting started"
- Mark Twain
I've started a new chapter in my life by enrolling in B.Ed Natural Science at Mar Theophilos Training College in Trivandrum. I am over the moon as I am closer to my goal of becoming a teacher.
The inaugural ceremony was a spiritual gathering in which almighty blessings were sought. Our seniors gave us a warm welcome, and the section was concluded by lighting our candles by our teachers.
